A Surgeon-Led Private Real Estate Investment Firm
Every element of this firm, from the name to the structure of every deal, was built around one conviction: surgeons deserve to practice medicine by choice.
Our Vision
By 2035, build a community of 1,000 financially independent,million-dollar surgeons practicing by choice, impacting 25 million lives.
Our Purpose
Our purpose is to enhance the quality of life for surgeons, their patients, and their families, strengthening the practice of medicine and the communities it serves.
The 1,000 Surgeon Mission is our organizational north star. It is an aspirational goal, not a performance projection or investor return guarantee.
Our Origin
Apta means trust in Sanskrit, and it is the standard this firm holds itself to in every decision we make. The name and the mark were chosen for the same reason. Trust is not a value we display. It is the operating principle behind how we source deals, how we structure capital, and how we show up for every investor in this community. The key mark is a reminder of what that trust is building toward.
Our Values
The standard we hold ourselves to
Transparency. Integrity. Meticulousness. Evolve.
Transparency
You will always know what we are investing in, why we selected it, what the risks are, and how your capital is performing.
Integrity
We do what is right, even when it is difficult. If a deal does not meet our standard, it does not reach you.
Meticulousness
We fall in love with due diligence, not deals. The details that protect your capital are the details we never overlook.
Evolve
The market changes. Tax law changes. Economic conditions change. A firm that does not evolve places your capital at risk.
Transparency protects your trust. Integrity protects your capital. Meticulousness protects the details that separate a sound deal from a costly one. And a firm that evolves protects your future. Every investor who finds Apta arrives with the same constraint. Not a shortage of intelligence. Not a shortage of discipline. A shortage of the one thing a career in surgery quietly consumes without asking permission.
A LETTER FROM OUR FOUNDER
After years of dedication to the medical field and establishing a leading ENT and Allergy practice and a physician-owned surgical hospital, I discovered the emotional costs of success. Behind the triumphs lie hidden sacrifices and battles that can make us question our profession’s true rewards.
By recognizing this, we nurture empathy and a willingness to support one another through the hidden challenges we all share. As I journey professionally, balancing financial security and personal joy, I’ve found strength in vulnerability, open dialogue, and building a network of unwavering support. This led me to the life-changing world of sound real estate investment, granting the flexibility to deliver patient care without financial constraints and to live life on my terms.
Driven by its profound effect on me, I founded Apta, named after the Sanskrit term for “trust”. Our purpose is to empower surgeons to break free from the cycle of trading time for money.
With Apta, you have more than a partner - you have an ally. We stand by our commitment to invest alongside you, symbolizing our deep pledge to your success. With financial freedom, you can reignite passion in your profession by providing empathetic care that uplifts humanity through a steadfast commitment to prioritizing patient well-being above all else.
Beyond our dedication to your financial success, we’re also passionate about supporting education for the underprivileged and offering healthcare to the underserved.
Join us, and embrace a future where autonomy meets profound purpose.

Founder & Managing Partner
Vasu Kakarlapudi, MD, MBA
Passionate about medicine, Vasu Kakarlapudi is a dedicated ENT surgeon committed to providing empathetic care to his patients. He champions financial independence as the best vehicle that allowed him and his peers to reignite their purpose and passion, unifying them for the common good.
Early in his career, Vasu observed that the most positive and fulfilled surgeons had other income sources, inspiring his journey into real estate. With over 20 years of leadership and successful investing, he led his peers to work together to develop the largest ENT and Allergy practice in the area, including a surgical hospital and multiple medical offices ground up development and dispositions. He founded Apta Investment Group to extend these passive investment opportunities to fellow surgeons seeking the same financial freedom. Our team and strategic partners have collectively participated in over $1 billion in real estate transactions across multiple market cycles. His investing philosophy for surgeons is documented in his Amazon bestselling book, [The Surgical Investor]. Committed to lifelong learning, Vasu encourages a fresh perspective on traditional investment mindsets, empowering individuals to seize opportunities in real estate.
His mission is clear: build a community of investors who share valuable knowledge and empower each other to live life on their own terms. When not working as an ENT surgeon or on Apta, Vasu enjoys mountain activities like hiking and skiing, meditation, and cheering on his hometown Kansas City sports teams with his kids.

David Boire
When Vasu built Apta, he built it around one non-negotiable: the physicians who invest with us will never have to wonder if their capital is in capable hands. Bringing David Boire on as COO is the operational expression of that commitment.
David brings 22 years of institutional-grade real estate experience to every decision he makes at Apta. As President of The Paskin Group, he oversaw a $600M+ portfolio, led a team of 80 real estate professionals, and facilitated over $1 billion in transaction volume across multiple market cycles. He has seen what happens when systems break down, when teams are misaligned, and when execution falls short, and he has built the disciplines that prevent it.
At Apta, David’s mandate is clear: make sure the machine runs right. That means the asset management systems that protect our investments are rigorous and real-time. The team executing on our business plan is accountable and aligned. And the operational infrastructure behind every deal meets the same institutional standard that David held at scale for two decades.
For physician investors who have spent a career operating at the highest standard their field demands, David is the person ensuring that Apta holds itself to the same one.
A Santa Barbara native and UC Santa Barbara alumnus, David brings the same discipline to his life outside of work, traveling with his family, surfing, and giving back through philanthropy.

Director of Capital Formation
Alicia Galloway
As Director of Capital Formation, Alicia is the first conversation most investors have with Apta, and she treats it as a diagnostic, not a pitch. She begins by understanding the unique needs of each investor. She works to understand where an investor actually stands: their goals, concentration risk, tax exposure, time horizon, and the income they’re trying to replace or protect. Sometimes that surfaces a gap Apta is built to address. Often it surfaces one we aren’t, and she says so. Investors leave those calls with a clearer picture of their own position either way, and with better questions for their CPA and advisor.
Prior to joining Apta, Alicia held leadership roles in investor relations and capital formation, supporting hundreds of investors and helping facilitate more than $200 million in capital invested across private real estate assets. She also founded a successful consulting firm, advising real estate companies on capital strategy, investor relations, business development, and operational growth.
Alicia is passionate about helping medical professionals use passive real estate investing to build wealth and pursue greater financial independence. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé and their four children, cooking, and being outdoors.

Arvin builds every piece of content with that lens: maximum value, nothing that is wasted.
Prior to Apta, Arvin spent nearly seven years in real estate investor relations and marketing, raising capital and building the systems and content that earn investor trust at scale. Arvin holds a B.A. in Computer Information Systems from Kennesaw State University. Outside of work, he’s an avid traveler and self-proclaimed foodie. He works out daily, which he considers less a hobby and more a tax he pays on tacos.
